Identify and Discuss the Change of Activity and Costs Structure within Essay
Identify and Discuss the Change of Activity and Costs grammatical construction within the Supply Chain ifLB Looked to a Third Party Logistics - Essay ExampleThis paper examines critical issues related to Lauritzen Bulkers - LB, one of the leading dry pot shipping firms in the world with its head quarters in Netherlands (Wolf, 2008). The paper first presents a brief literature refreshen about SCM and then it discuses the modification of activity and costs structure within the tag on chain if LB looked to a third party logistics provider to supply their transport needs. The paper in addition examines the extent to which this would impact LB gaining ISO 14000 recognition. LB is a very large shipping company that owns a large number of carriers and it has taken up partnerships with otherwise shipping firms and uses third party logistics. As per the annual report (LB, 2011), by 2011, LB controlled through its owned assets and with those of its network partners, 100 ships of differ ent sizes such as Handymax, Handysize, Capesize and Panamax bulk carriers. Through its subsidiary Lauritzen Kosan, LB controlled a combined fleet of 44 semi-refrigerated ships. Gas carriers for Ethylene, fully pressurised go down on carriers, and several smaller refrigerated gas carriers. The firm also controlled 2 numbers very large oil carriers, DP shuttle tankers, and 18 MR product tankers. 2. Literature Review An efficient supply chain can reduce costs, increase cleverness and help to retain customers. Organisations across the world have come to depend on supply duress to service their production lines, fill customer orders and retail shelves. Some important aspects of SCM are discussed in this chapter. 2.1. Nature of supply chains and networks A critical palingenesis of Hugos (2011), supply chain management is not merely about picking items from one point and dropping it to another. It is more about estimating demand correctly, understanding the lead-time for procurement and then placing the order for manufacturing. If the lead-time estimation is excessive, then inventory is more and lead to excessive costs while lesser lead-time means the risk of stock out. on that point is also the economic order that indicates the minimum quantity required in a shipment. Shipping and logistics firms are integrated with the operations of large buyers so that efficiency is maintained, the quality of service is prompt and reliability of service is unfailing. 2.2. Cost structures in Supply Chains Supply chain analytics often focus on trim down cost structures of the supply chain. This is mainly done because in a procurement cycle, other than the basic product cost, the cost of the supply chain makes up a major component of the cost. The percentage of cost varies from 35% to 55% of the product costs. For perishable items such as dairy products, meat and poultry products, livestock, the costs are more than 67%. Much depends on the distance travelled, the nature of pr oduct, pressure for on time delivery, possibility of wastage and loss and other factors (Deloitte, 2012). A critical review of Xia (2003) shows that some of the cost structures in an organisation are inventory carrying costs, production costs, inspection costs, logistics costs, transportation and handling costs, storage costs, onward forwarding costs and other costs due to delays in berthing, availability of shipping and so on. Some of the costs are borne by the organisation while some are borne by the

They argon of the belief that God is holy and exists in all places, is powerful, present at all times. These aspects link the three religions to the concept of God and the role of Abraham in religion- the founder. They alike believe that in prayer, the transc quitent God can answer the prayer of all individuals. This means that God is the creator and controller of all humans.Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are referred to as self-described monotheistic religions. Prerogative Has Been Abused Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Prerogative Has Been Abused - Essay ExampleIt is not surprising thus to witness managers terminating employees for any reason they deem fit, sometimes basing their decisions on pure discrimination and whistle-blowing. This largely creates conflict in the workplace (Price, 2007). A number of reports indicate that a good number of managers exhibit bedevilment to their subordinates, some sexual in nature. No wonder, a number of acts and pieces of legislations, the world over, prohibit discriminatory harassment including sexual harassment (Frankaro, 2007). The other area where managers look to overstep their boundaries is in management of customer relationship and employee interaction. Related to this is placing bottlenecks of employees communication with clients and sometimes within themselves, tailored around the ebb and flow of communication as defined by the management. Sometimes, managers consciously or unconsciously inhibit the flow of communication between workers to promote wit ch-hunting and cause incitement. Most of them are not sure of the fundamental requirement associated with this and sometimes base their fear and defensive action on their insecurities and inferiority complex (Gollan, 2005). Actions of some employers represented by the managers are de-motivating to employees. Micro-management is an answer that many employees detest. The practice sometimes arises from the concern of most managers to have particulars mini-details, and pressure to deliver results within a particular unreasonable timeline (Gennard, 2006). Much as it has been argued that micromanagement is in force(p) to bring lazy and procrastinating employees into action, oftentimes, micromanagements could be based on pure inferiority complex and other set of insecurities or as a strategy to kick out an employee. In order... The managers-subordinate relationship can be described as good and bad. Employees are tired of being bullied at the work-place and micromanagement does more evi l than good. The solution for improvement, however, lies in managers taking a step to enhancing the cordial relationship. The delegation of duties is very important. These will facilitate a highly productive and warmer workplace that ensures employees recognition and ordained sanctioning. The other way certainly is facilitating regular meetings between employees and managers, as well ensuring that communication between the two is promoted. employees become timid in taking initiatives and make sacrifices since they feel that whatever they do is not positively sanctioned. To the Manager, walling-up, and shutting-down his effort becomes the order of the day since she/he will harbor the belief that no one listens. Interestingly, behaviors of managers such bullying has led to incidences of physical confrontations and violence in the workplace. Bernadi, for example, reports a case a high profile violence of one Pierre Lebrun, who was working at OC Transport in Ottawa, Mexico, where the employee shot people, with five of them reportedly dying, and him ultimately committing suicide.

Political Science - Essay ExampleACH manages to avoid both serviceman bias and analytical errors by integrating both cognitive psychology and scientific methods into its system of exploration. That notwithstanding, I hold the opinion that bringing on mount other analysts when using ACH is more productive than when an analyst uses it alone. This is because having many analysts on board ensures that for each one situation is approached form a broad angle, thereby taking into consideration all the possible alternatives. The input of the other analysts will similarly be important in doing away with assumptions while collecting evidence against each alternative (Intelligence Reports 2013). The ideal result would be that the alternative with the least evidence against it would be accepted. Bringing on board several analysts would be challenging as handling numerous views may be mentally hectic, nonetheless, the process would be comprehensive and without pitfalls, notably because the al ternatives will be competing against each other.Response to TylerI seaport the same belief as you that the content that we have covered in this course will come in handy in ensuring that we become widely distributed professionals in the field of intelligence. As mentioned by Rebecca. L (2012), when your workers feel youre looking out for them, theyll look out for you, too, by producing higher quality work and staying in their jobs longer. Providing good benefits parcel of landswhich might include retirement, wellness care or dental plansis a tangible way to show empl oyees that you value them and their quality of life. Introduction In the past decades, the beverage industry paved the way to the rise of caffeinated energy drinks in the market. Back in early 1960s, it first of all appeared in Europe and Asia in response to the consumers demand for a dietary supplement that would result in increased energy (Reissig et al., 2009).Basically, energy drinks refer to beverages that contain mainly caffeine, alongside other active constituents which includes varying amounts of guarana extract, taurine, vitamins, amino acids and herbal extracts. These purportedly provide benefits such as increased mental alertness, physical endurance, performance and stamina (Simon and Mosher, 2007 Babu et al. , 2008). Conversely, there is inadequate evidence that consumption of energy drinks can significantly improve both physical and mental performance (Scholey and Kennedy, 2004).The all-inclusive availability and distribution of energy drinks makes them readily accessible for purchase by adolescents. Market surveys indicate that 31% of those aged 12 to 17 are unremitting c onsumers of energy drinks, as are 34% of aged 18 to 24 (Simon and Mosher, 2007). Concerns have been raised regarding the effects of the ingredients present in energy drinks on children and adolescents. This study was conducted due to the core objective of making the public aware of the adverse effects of energy drinks, especially to children. Adverse reactions and toxicity from high-energy drinks mainly al-Qaida from their caffeine content (Reissig et al. , 2009).The dark dose of pure caffeine in adults is 5 to 10 grams when taken orally and 3. 5 grams by injection. In children, the fatal dose is much lower (Health Canada, 2000). Children who consume too much caffeine are at higher risk for behavioral effects, such as anxiety, bodily fluid changes and loss of attentiveness. A daily intake of less than 45 to 85 mg is recommended, depending on the childs health condition (Health Canada, 2003). Based on a survey, it was found out that 42. 3% of the youth (ages 11 to 18) consumes en ergy drinks (ODea, 2003). At risk children having excessive daily intake of caffeine should be hold in to no more than 2.5 mg caffeine/kg body weight, and may need to avoid consuming energy beverages with higher caffeine content. Adolescents should frontier caffeine consumption as well as intakes greater than 100 mg/day for reports says that it has been directly correlated with an increase in blood force (Savoca et al. , 2004). 2. Materials and Methods 2. 1 Research Design The research is focused on the components of energy drinks where five products were sampled namely reaping A, B, C, D, and E. The researchers acquired a sample of each product. 2. 2 consume and Acquisition of Samples Products A, B, C, D, and E were randomly sampled.Fish bowl sampling was used where the names of these products were written on a piece of paper. Out of 7, 5 products of energy drink were picked from a bowl. Slovins formula was used and the margin of error was set to 20%. One out of seven is the p robability of each to be chosen. The 5 energy drink products were acquired through purchase. 2. 3 Gathering of selective information Each of the products underwent examining of the researchers. The composition information has been referred to for the determination of ingredients of each product. The data was listed and tabulated (Refer to set back 3. 1).This was do to compare their components and to determine which products share the same components. Nutrition information was besides included. 2. 4Analysis of the Components The ingredients of products were analyzed through research. The researchers studied the primary and side effects of some of the ingredients. The ordinary consumption of an average human of a certain component was compared to the serving size included in each product.3. Common ingredients present among the energy beverages.Table 3. 1 shows the ingredients of products A, B, C, D, and E. Any formulated energy drink may contain the ingredients listed above. All 5 contain carbohydrates, particularly sucrose, and citric acid. Product C has the highest average quantity of carbohydrates which includes sugar, per serving with 54 g. It is followed by Product E with 39 g. , Product A with 34 g. , Product D with 26 g. , and Product B with 12. 5 g. , respectively. Product A, C, D, and E has Niacin, Pyroxidine Hydrochloride and Cyanocobalamin. Riboflavin is present in Product A while product E has Thiamine Hydrochloride.Vitamin B12, Cyanocobalamin, which is present in Product A, C, D, and E has quantities 2 mcg, 1. 3 mcg, 2. 4 mcg, 0. 70 mcg per serving respectively. In Vitamin B12 Dosing Guidelines for General Supplementation, the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) for vitamin B12 for 14 years old and above is 2. 4 mcg daily. An intake of one serving of Product D could supply the daily need of the body of an average teenager and adult while product per serving is 0. 83 % of our bodys needs for B12 everyday (http//women. emedtv. com). The RDAs indicate the adequate intake of a body for a nutrient.Panax Ginseng is found to be present in Products A, B, C, and E. This ingredient is claimed to play a role on mental, physical and sexual performance. It is said that it could lower blood pressure and hold up blood glucose but there is no current scientific eviden ce notwithstanding on its efficacy (Ernst, 2002). Up to 3,000 mg day of supplemental taurine is safe as considered (http//www. mayoclinic. com). Taurine is an amino acid that may lower blood pressure where systolic, diastolic and mean blood pressure in subjects with hypertension have been reduced by 6 grams of supplementary taurine every day (Kohashi et al., 1988).Taurine is present in Product A, B, C, D, and E. It is claimed to control hypertension yet there is insufficient evidence that it can significantly lower the risks of diabetes and epilepsy according to what it is claimed to be. The caffeine present in coffee and pharmaceutical drugs is said to be unhealthy. The caffeine naturally contained in a few herbs such as Yerba Mate, Guarana, Kola Nut, and Green Tea, is naturally occurring caffeine, also known as bio-caffeine and is non-addictive. Moreover, herbal teas are stimulants in nature due to other chemicals beside caffeine. These other stimulants found naturally occurring i n herbs, i. e. mateine (found in Yerba Mate), have similar reaction on the body like caffeine does, but they are not addictive at all (http//dherbs. com/). All products were found out to contain caffeine. But among the other products, only Product A has guarana extract (1 gram of guarana is approximately 40 mg of caffeine). Canadian Guidelines recommend an intake of no more than 85 mg/day for people with ages ranging from 12 years old and above. In a research conducted by Warzak et al. (2010), the hours of sleep is negatively correlated with the amount of caffeine intake.Consumption of caffeine may also affect cognitive decline due to its association with a wide range of clinical variables (Ritchie, 2007). Caffeine may cause a persistent effect on the neurochemical system (Sobotka, 1989). Caffeine on children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was more effective than no treatment in declining impulsivity, aggression, and parents and teachers perceptions of children s symptom severity, compared with Methylphenidate and Amphetamines (http//jad. sagepub. com/). Caffeine is a unbendable stimulant, thus it may reduce daytime tiredness and improve mental focus. However, researches are still a must regarding caffeines effects on the functioning of adolescents and adults with ADHD. 4. terminal After examining the ingredients of the energy drinks, the consumption of the ingredients more than the recommended amounts per day may cause physiological side effects. Caffeinated beverages, to be considered safe, must be limited of no more than the adequate intake of an average man, if a serving is formulated to be consumed once daily. Limited ingestion of these energy drinks most likely does not cause adverse effects.Energy drinks are composed mainly of carbohydrates and different ingredients like taurine, caffeine, and Panax Ginseng which are safe provided that it would be consumed in proper amounts. Caffeine, which is popular to many energy drinks, was fo und out to decline some behavior impairments associated with ADHD such as aggression and impulsivity. The Impact Of Advertising On The Mass Media Media Essay
The Impact Of Advertising On The Mass Media Media EssayWith the social and stinting development and frequent multinational cultural exchange, the traditional media such as newspapers, magazines, radio and television are personnel casualty through a increasingly stable development in late years. With the rapid development of high technology, Internet media is emerging as the fourth. These resulted in to a greater extent frequent exchange of social information, and now advertisers have more agreeable channels for their goods and services promotion. Mass media has beseem a major promotional platform for ad both news and advertizement are interdependent and in return compete for the TV broadcast time and newspaper pages published. Advertising development is bound to have increasingly important influence on the development of good deal media.Firstly, this paper impart bug turn upline the question background and rationale. Fol down(p)ing this, it will explain the intention and the importance of the research. Then, it will explain the draw and the objectives of the research. Next, the paper will review old literatures which are related to this cartoon. This is followed by the methodology of the research. The paper will explain the resource, sampling and ethical considerations of the study orderly. Finally, it will make out the conclusion of the study. Background and research rationaleAdvertising is a particular need, since the production and exchange of goods, denote had began to be used in the life. The worlds first ad is conducted by voice, also known as oral advertising, which is the most primitive sell advertising, which is characterized by simple forms of advertising in particular. Back in the earliest slave society of ancient Greece, people do the slave and livestock trade by public advocacy and yelling out the rhythmic ads.The stratagem of the printing press created a new era of advertising. In 1473, Britains first publisher, William Kanke Si printed a lot of publicity religious content of the print ads and affix them in the many streets in London this is the first Western print advertising. In 1622, Nicholas Brown and Thomas Ke Qieer, who were both from the UK, founded the first English newspaperwhich was named hebdomadal News and was published in London. Since then, newspaper has become a main carrier of advertising. To the end of 1830, America has had about l200 pieces of newspapers, and 65 species of them are daily newspapers. close or first full-page edition of many newspapers is advertising. 1830 -1850 is the penny press era, because the price is a penny foe each piece of newspaper. Due to the low price, the sales had increased, and the effectiveness of advertising had also been increased. While popular in the newspaper ads, magazine ads are increasing, and a large amount of advertising agencies and advertising companies showed up since then. With the development and popularization of radio and television, they became a major carrier of advertising, because they have benefits of quick spread, vivid images and a wide range covering, which are more easily to attract the attention of consumers. After the 1980s, with the rapid development and popular of electronic media, computer began to be used for advertising design and planning. With high-tech, advertising has become part of the information dissemination activities in our lives. Inevitably, the development of advertising caused a lot of impact on atomic pile media, both positive and negative.Aim and ObjectivesThe aim of this study is to find the impact of advertising on the development trends of mass media, there must be a very complicated relationship between advertising and news in the mass media, and as all known, news provide real and quick information to people, but the function of advertising is all in all different, which will lead different impact on the mass media. This research is aimed to find out all the elements which cause t hese differences and the result in the final examination. This study will firstly introduce the original and historic development of advertising which takes the mass media as the major carrier, and then analyze the relationship between news and advertising on the aspects of their differences and common points, and find out how they influence mass media in different ways. In the following this study will explain the impact of advertising on the development trends of mass media, from both positive and negative aspects. Following suggestions which aim at improving the development of mass media will be minded(p) in the end of this study.Literature ReviewIn the study The impact of Advertising on media turn, Esther Gal-or, Tansev Geylani and Tubapinar Yildirim (2010) investigated how and in what extent the advertising affected the extent of bias in the media. They believed that, when making choices on which media to do the advertising and how much they would like to pay for it, advertis ers would evaluate both the size as well as the part of the readership of the different medias, in this way, when the total ad spending to a fixed advertising costs, it can be used as a reference value, check to advertisers strengths and weaknesses to make the final choice. They stated that, Reasons for the existence of media bias range from journalists desire to enhance their career opportunities to medias incentive to increase audience ratings. In a late paper by Mullainathan and Shleifer, a link is established between subscription fees and media bias. There are some people doubts the objectivity of the mass media when they are purchasing economic benefit. Serge Kasper (2008) pointed out in his weblog The Impact of Advertising on Society that, Critics has accused advertising companies of falsely using the power of sound and visual to convince unsuspicious buyers to purchase products that dont offer what they promise.John Harms from Southwest Missouri State University and Douglas Kellner (1990) from the University of Texas at Austin had cooperated a study Toward A Critical Theory of Advertising, in which that pointed out that The studies such as what stated before have explore how the mass media influenced by advertisers and business concern, which is reflected in news and cultural differences.. According to these previous studies, this point is just about inevitable. Chuck, Blore (2000), who is one of the partners of the advertising firm Chuck Blore Don Ruchman said that Advertising is the art of arresting the human intelligence just long enough to ingest money from it. And this determined that the advertising is totally different from news in the function and purpose when they are televised or published.Shah (2008) stated that, Since the emergence of mass media, business is very natural to take them as channels and platforms to the promotion of products and services, there is nothing wrong in this point, because it makes the share of information and i nnovation come aline and influence peoples daily life.MethodologyData CollectionThis paper studies the impact of advertising on the development trends of mass media, which requires doing some analysis on a common phenomenon for many advertising sector of media, and drawing basic conclusions. If only concrete on individual cases, apparently, the conclusion can not be model of all media in common. In this article, I will collect enough detailed information, and the questionnaire will help the final conclusion to a large extent. any the previous studies about advertising and media, as well as their relationship will be taken as useful data, and they will be self-contained and analyzed in a scientific way.Questionnaire InterviewIn order to collect quantitative data for this study, this paper will use structured, close stop and five-point method to design questionnaire correspond to previous literatures. Before carrying on the questionnaire, this paper will try to summarize as mor e as possible previous study on the relevant topic, and analyze the information from different angles. A set of questions will be distributed to 10 people whose jobs are relevant to media or advertising and to another 10 who are common audiences and readers. Also there would be 2 open-ended questions and some interviews to those recipients.Through the questionnaire and interview, those aims are expected to be realized1. Is the advertising also an important information resource in the daily life?2. Do people believe what the advertising tells about?3. When the mass media provide time and space for the advertising, are they only pursuing economic benefit?4. Will the advertising have negative influence on the dependability of mass media?5. Is it reasonable to separate news and advertising in the media? All these questions above will be put into the questionnaires in detail, and the feedback will be equanimous after the interviewees answering them, then the data will be summarized and the analysis will be make out, which will be helpful to the research of this topic.TimescaleThis study will be carried on from XXX. The total term approximately will be XXX weeks. The following will the various stages schedule of the work which is going to be done in the future. It will design the questionnaire of this study according to previous related literature from XXX to XXX.
